Heart & ART Therapy

Bio – Christina Moschaki

I am a painter, art therapist, and founder of Heart & Art Therapy.

My path into art therapy began in my 20s while living in Mexico, where painting helped me reconnect with my authentic self. What started as personal exploration grew into an artistic practice and later into my book Birth As You Please, documenting women’s birth stories from around the world.

Before becoming an art therapist, I worked in international organizations, social development projects, research, and advocacy across Mexico, England, Spain, Bolivia, Colombia, Belgium, Canada, and Greece. Today, I integrate my multidisciplinary background into my practice.

I have also facilitated group art therapy workshops with Notios Art Space, Love Without Borders, IOM Greece, Caritas Hellas, AMURTEL Greece, and through the EU’s Culture Moves Europe program in collaboration with The Kiosk in Antwerp.

Education

  • Certificate in Art Therapy, Hellenic Educational Centre of Art Therapy, Athens
  • BA in Economics and Business, York University, Toronto
  • Master’s in Social Development, University of Carlos III, Madrid
  • Master’s in Business Administration,, IE Business School, Madrid

My approach

My approach is influenced by the work of Carl Gustav Jung, Melanie Klein, and Irvin Yalom, and by the belief that art can directly support the human spirit. Art is a fundamental human need, a way of accessing inner truth and wisdom. When words are not enough, art offers a respectful and safe pathway to the heart.

Birth as you please - The book

Twenty-one mothers, women who give birth, from different corners of the world (Canada, the U.S., Bolivia, Russia, Brazil, Belgium, France, Greece) join their voices in the book Birth As You Please to share their stories and portraits to inspire, empower, and advocate for the right to choose how, where, when, and with whom to give birth. A book where the diversity of the childbirth experience is depicted through colors and words, and which uses art as a medium that elevates the human condition and captures the essence of motherhood.
