Methana Eco-Art Therapy Retreat

by | Jun 29, 2024 | Events | 0 comments

A call for transformation, a unique experience of self-discovery within a group through expressive arts.

Discover Tranquility and creativity on the Methana Peninsula

The serene beauty of Methana, a hidden gem in the heart of Greece that promises rejuvenation, relaxation, and a profound connection with nature. In our Methana Eco – Art Therapy retreat we will unwind and explore our personal symbols and we will narrate the story of our life path in a symbolic way. We will be inspired by the beautiful surroundings, mountains and sea, volcano and hot springs and connect with our creativity.

Through various expressions of healing art (painting, clay, movement, active imagination), nature walks and swims (sea, volcano, thermal baths) we will discover the sense of holding, softening and trusting. We will transcend to a renewed creative perception of who we are, how we want to walk this life and we will enrich through our human interactions in the group dynamics.

Amancaya Xristina

Painter and Art Therapist

“I am always moved by how art can in an instant bring relief to the human spirit; It is more than just expression; it is a human need that connects us to our inner truth and wisdom. Art is empowering, easily accessible, and helps us in our quest of our deepest desires.

Art can reach the heart in a respectful and safe manner when words are not enough. The therapy sessions I provide respect the rhythm, the needs, the request and the diversity of each individual. Everyone, regardless of age, culture and social status can express parts of their unique psychic wealth through art therapy.

I started painting when I was living in the country of my favourite painter Frida Kahlo, in Mexico. My relationship with each image that my hands have created drew from my personal history my own symbols and activated them, connecting them to my conscious life. I realized over time that painting was my way to quiet the mind and to connect with my authentic self.

Through the writing of my book “Birth as you Please” and the painting of each woman’s birth story, I realized that art has infinite possibilities and expressions in human beings and their lives that help them discover their authentic qualities and unify their personalities. Art activates the non-verbal part of the self, retrieves images and symbols from the unconscious, renews the neurological synapses, enriching our existence.”
